Our Story
Ghostlight Coffee Co. was founded by Aaron and Dale Bishop-Scrivener — two theatre professionals who spent years in rehearsal rooms, backstage corridors, and green rooms sustained almost entirely by bad coffee and sheer determination. We built Ghostlight because we knew there had to be something better, and because we wanted to create something that actually reflected the world we love.
The name comes from the ghost light — the single bare bulb left burning on an empty stage after everyone's gone home. It's a theatre tradition. A quiet symbol that the show goes on, that something sacred lives in that space even in the dark. That's the spirit behind every bag we roast. Our passion is the intersection of two things that bring people together: great coffee and great theatre. Every blend in our lineup is paired with a specific Broadway or Off-Broadway show, named with references that theatre people instantly recognize, and crafted to be as memorable as the production that inspired it.
Our customers are the people who get it — working actors, stage managers, directors, designers, crew, pit musicians, and devoted theatregoers who've seen the same show four times because they just can't quit it. They're a community, not a demographic. And they deserve a coffee brand that speaks their language.
